Q: I have a problem with the plugin.
A: Download the plugin again, the build on the site is updated
from time to time. Ensure that you have the current one downloaded. If
after installing you still have a problem - then read on.
Q: How do I install plugin for Winamp5 ?
A: Winamp5 has the same format as Winamp2.
Ensure
that you are not trying to install Winamp3 plugin.
Download universal distribution here.
If the installer was still unable to find your winamp, then
Copy
Program Files\4front-oss3d-7\dsp_oss3ddsp.dll to
Winamp5 Plugins folder,
That will do the trick,
and then you will be able to enable plugin via Winamp5 preferences (Press Ctrl-P,
select DSP plugins on the left, and OSS/3D on the right).
Q: There is no plugin visible in the player
A: First, ensure that you use Universal distribution.
If you do, and there is still no plugin in the player, submit a support request.
Q: How do I configure the plugin?
A: An OSPI tray icon should be visible when you run the player. If
it is not, then the plugin is probably not selected in player options.
Q: The plugin interface shows up, but there is no change
in the sound
A: Check that plugin is enabled. For example, in Sonique
player you have to go to Audio Options dialog and select OSS/3D R7
Q: How do I uninstall plugin ?
A: Use Add/Remove programs from Windows control panel. You have
to close player before deinstallation, so that deinstall utility can
delete all plugin-specific files from player directory. If you have
further problems, submit a support request.
Player specific files are:
Winamp2,5: Winamp\Plugins\dsp_oss3ddsp.dll
Winamp3: Winamp3\Wacs\oss3ddsp.wac
Musicmatch:Musicmatch\Plugins\DSP\dsp_mmjoss3d.dll
Sonique:Sonique\soniqueoss3d.dll
Q: Plugin interface looks too bright on LCD display.
A: You can make controls look darker by applying this file:
LCD Gamma.
You can restore gamma back to default with this file:
CRT Gamma. To
run these files, you first need to save them on the disk (shift-click).
Q: How do I delete a preset from the list?
A: All presets are stored as normal files in OSS/3D directory
(normally C:\Program Files\4front-oss3d-7\Presets).
You can
browse this directory with explorer and delete files from there.
Q: How do I backup my favorite custom presets?
A: All presets are stored as normal files in OSS/3D directory
(normally C:\Program Files\4front-oss3d-7\Presets).
You grab
preset files from that directory to backup, and copy them back there
to restore.
Q: What does plugin do? What Brainwave Inductor is for?
A: We are preparing a new manual, specific to version R7. Till
it is ready, you can find descriptions for most of the plugin functions
in the plugin manual.
